My question is about the wheel base. They range from 250" for a 18' box to 212" for 16-17' foot box. most will give more gross wt. to a longer wheel base truck, plus if drive tandems

You can run the supersingle drive tires you just have to get the wheels for them they have the back spacing to fit on the drive axles. I wouldn't run them on a dump truck you will loose some stability. Also if you have a blow out your stuck.
